Receivers of the Ülo Pärnits Scholarship 2025 Have Been Announced
On june 16 Ülemiste City awarded for the eighth year scholarships in the name of Ülo Pärnits, the visionary who laid the foundation for Estonia’s largest smart city. The Ülo Pärnits Scholarship Fund supports research that contributes to the sustainable, innovative, and human-centered development of Ülemiste City and beyond.
This year’s scholarship recipients explored topics ranging from global economic trends and strategic foresight to sustainable mobility, public health nudging, and even community-inspired public art.
University of Tartu students Enes Toci, Inger Porkanen, Defir Ilmi Faridha and Najmin Khalaf received a scholarship of 3000 € for studying how global trends influenced the smart development of Ülemiste City.
Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences Mainor students Erki Koho and Jana Kislatš received a scholarship of 2500 € for creating a concept for the design for an office building staircase that invites people to move more.
Pallas School of Art student Adele Maria Arengu received a scholarship of 2000 € for winning the supergraphics competition with her sketch “Working Bees”, which will decorate the campus in the future.
University of Tartu student Anna Petermann received a scholarship of 1500 € for researching the Ülemiste community
TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology student Helena Roosaar received a scholarship of 1500 € for studying future monitoring and campus planning
TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology students Leo Benjamin Leoste & Kristel Marmor received a scholarship of 1500 € for testing a building assistent robot
TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology student Ketelin Kivi received a scholarship of 1000 € for researching how to promote sustainable mobility in Ülemiste organizations.
In addition, the scholarship fund supports entrepreneurial students of the Estonian Entrepreneurship College who contribute to the development of the campus or the Mainor group. The size of the scholarship fund is up to 20,000 euros each year and the sponsors of the scholarship are Mainor AS, Kristosten OÜ and Mainor Ülemiste.
