CityBee withdraws from rooftop parking pilot project
As part of the Test City pilot project, the provision of CityBee services on the roof of the H parking garage will end on May 25 due to technical challenges. All other CityBee parking areas on the campus will remain unchanged.
CityBee had been testing parking on the roof of the H parking garage as the next phase of a pilot project launched in December, aimed at exploring new ways to integrate car-sharing services into the urban environment. Unfortunately, too many technical challenges arose when providing the service on the rooftop, and as a result, CityBee was forced to discontinue its participation in the pilot.
Starting from May 25, only Bolt car-sharing vehicles will be allowed to park on the roof of the H parking garage.
The goal of the Ülemiste Test City pilot project is to find a balance between the needs of car owners requiring outdoor parking spaces and the growing demand for car-sharing services. Previously, shared short-term rental vehicles could mainly be parked on the outskirts of the campus, which reduced the convenience of the service. The pilot project helps ease pressure on outdoor parking areas, frees up space for green areas, and makes more efficient use of previously unused rooftop levels.
