It Is Now Possible for Two Tram Lines to Operate to Tallinn Airport

,   < 1 minute reading

AS Tallinna Linnatransport (TLT) has completed the construction of a parallel track to the Tallinn Airport tram line. The new additional tram line branch will create the opportunity to direct more trams to the airport, including two different lines, and will make the order of trams returning from the final stop to the line more flexible.

Sten Pärnits, Chairman of the Board of Mainor AS, said that the talents of the Ülemiste City campus are very much looking forward to the restoration of tram traffic. “I am pleased that there is now the ability to bring two different tram lines to the campus. The number of talents in Ülemiste City is constantly growing, and as a sustainable campus, we value tram traffic, which is a convenient and fast alternative to cars.”

According to Tallinn Deputy Mayor Kristjan Järvan, the new tram line branch will enable a more frequent schedule and better operation of the final stop in the future.

The length of the completed tram line branch is 110 meters. Construction work began on August 18 and ended on October 31, 2025. Tram traffic is planned to reopen in the spring.
