AS Mainor Receives the “Movement Friend 2025” Award
At the Sports Stars of the Year 2025 gala, AS Mainor was awarded the “Movement Friend 2025” title for its work as an employer in promoting healthier movement habits. Presenting the award, Hando Sutter, CEO of the Estonian Employers’ Confederation, said he was pleased to recognize an employer whose activities help increase people’s healthy life years.
“The winner of this award encourages people – through their actions and example – to move more in everyday life and to engage in sports. They motivate and inspire nearly 18,000 people to be active and demonstrate, through the design of urban space, how the environment itself can increase physical activity,” Sutter said.
Accepting the award, Kadi Pärnits, Chair of the Management Board of AS Mainor, thanked the organizers for the recognition and added that it is a major acknowledgment of the entire Ülemiste City community for more than a decade of joint efforts to promote active mobility. Pärnits also thanked the campus partners, Ülemiste companies, and people who have embraced active health and movement initiatives and taken part in campus events—from the Business Triathlon to stair runs.
“Many thanks to the diverse Mainor and Mainor Ülemiste teams who have built the necessary infrastructure: from health trails to the community building’s sports hall and who have initiated and led numerous events. Special thanks also go to former Chair of the Ülemiste City Management Board, Ursel Velve, who took ownership of the Bike2Work challenge to encourage more people to cycle to work and to ensure all the necessary amenities are in place,” said Kadi Pärnits.
At the Sports Stars of the Year 2025 awards gala, the “For a Healthy Estonia!” movement awards were presented for the first time. The movement awards were given in three categories: Getting Children Moving 2025, Movement Friend 2025, and Movement Initiative 2025.
