Three New Bus Shelters Added to Lõõtsa Street

,   < 1 minute reading

Ülemiste City has installed three new comfortable and weather-resistant bus shelters at the Dvigatel and Lõõtsa stops on Lõõtsa Street, making public transport even more convenient for the talents who move around the campus. All shelters now feature real-time bus information, and additional wind-protection panels will be added shortly. In spring, the structures will be complemented with climbing vines to provide extra shade and bring more greenery to the street.

Each shelter cost €15,000, and all three were built with the support of the Ülemiste City Community Fund. The fund is financed by campus companies based on their number of employees, with Mainor Ülemiste contributing an equal matching amount. “Sustainability and a green mindset are core values for Ülemiste City, and it’s important to us that people can comfortably reach the campus by public transport. I’m pleased that, thanks to the Community Fund, we were able to install three new shelters that make waiting for the bus warmer and more pleasant,” said Sten Pärnits, Chairman of the Management Board of Mainor Ülemiste.

Every spring, the Community Fund Council decides which development projects to support and selects one charitable organisation to fund. Campus residents and employees can submit their ideas through a participatory budgeting process, and the supported projects are chosen by vote. Next year’s idea round opens already on 12 January.
