Pedestrian and cyclist access to Ülemiste City will improve

,   < 1 minute reading

Starting in the first half of February, it will be easier to navigate through the Western Tunnel, located between T1 and Ülemiste Centre. The route for pedestrians and cyclists will be shorter and it is again possible to go straight through the tunnel. The temporary bus stop will remain in the same location as it is now.

The map showing the location of the tunnel and traffic schematics are attached.

Rail Baltic Estonia OÜ and Tallinn Environmental and Municipal Affairs Department have just jointly announced the tender for the construction works of the Kantsi Tunnel Phase I. The Kantsi Tunnel will create an additional connection between Suur-Sõjamäe Street and Peterburi Road for pedestrians, light vehicles, cars and buses. This is currently the first phase, which is jointly financed by Rail Baltic Estonia OÜ and the City of Tallinn. Mainor Ülemiste AS organized the tunnel design and obtaining a building permit.
