The Offices of Nortal – the First Tenant of Ülemiste City Have Been Renovated

,   2 minute reading

Ülemiste City has just completed a thorough reconstruction of the Nortal office located at Lõõtsa 6, which made the building much more energy-efficient and user-friendly. The most important change was the transfer of the building, which was originally built in 1900, from gas heating to district heating and cooling, which significantly reduces energy consumption and makes the building’s environmental footprint much smaller.

During the renovation, the lighting of the entire building was updated, replacing the previous one with an efficient LED solution. The roof was also better insulated and the windows were replaced to ensure better heat retention and lower energy costs.

To improve the comfort of movement, a new elevator was built between the floors, making the building fully accessible to both employees and guests. During the reconstruction work, the existing structures were preserved as much as possible, adding only the necessary new partitions according to the client’s wishes.

“Ülemiste City’s goal is to create work environments that support both the ambitions of companies and our sustainability goals. Nortal is one of the first tenants of the campus and is very important to us, so we wanted to offer them new and better working conditions,” says Sten Pärnits, Chairman of the Board of Mainor Ülemiste, “The reconstruction of Nortal offices shows that modern and energy-efficient solutions can also be achieved by smartly renovating existing buildings. Ülemiste City’s goal is also to use more and more smart building solutions to make energy saving as convenient as possible for the user.”

At the opening of the new office, Nortal CEO Priit Alamäe said that when Nortal opened its office in Ülemiste nearly 20 years ago, it was the best office in Estonia, and added that “today, after the renovation, we are once again in the best office in Estonia.”

The renovation transformed Nortal’s office into an energy-efficient and comfortable working environment in the heart of Ülemiste City, in line with modern needs. Next year, reconstruction work will also begin on the remaining Lõõtsa 6 building, during which Ülemiste City Park will also get a new look.
