Smart MasterKey launches pilot project at Ülemiste City
Smart MasterKey, connecting different physical access control ecosystems and enabling mobile access with a single mobile app, has partnered with Ülemiste City Test City to initiate a pilot project aimed at offering secure and convenient mobile key solutions to its tenants. This collaboration highlights Ülemiste City’s commitment to innovative and sustainable urban solutions.
“At Ülemiste City, we are dedicated to improving tenant experience and supporting sustainable innovation. Our Test City program is meant to pilot new technologies and service models that align with our vision of a smart and sustainable urban environment. Testing mobile key access fits well into the program because it allows us to explore digitalising daily operations, while also reducing environmental impact,” Sten Pärnits, CEO of Mainor Ülemiste said.
According to Jüri Teemant, CCO of Smart MasterKey, millions of commercial properties around the world still use plastic RFID cards and centralized management, which can lead to inefficiencies, high administrative costs and security risks. “They often face issues with lost or shared access cards, limited ability to manage their users and lack of real-time visibility. By replacing plastic cards with secure mobile keys, we are not only making life easier for tenants, but also taking a significant step towards a smarter and greener future,” added Teemant.
“Smart MasterKey has been part of Ülemiste City community for almost 2 years. It has been a great opportunity to learn and generate ideas on how to improve the business environment. We see mobile key adoption as a rising trend to provide users with higher comfort, security and sustainability in mind,” said Teemant.
Modernising tenant access with mobile keys
The pilot project will enable Ülemiste City tenants to benefit from Smart MasterKey’s advanced mobile access technology, which provides:
● User comfort: Secure and unique mobile credentials replace traditional RFID cards, allowing tenants to use their smartphones for seamless entry to office spaces and common areas.
● Self-Administration: Tenants’ office administrators can independently manage all mobile access credentials, making it easier to add, update, or revoke access without relying on external support.
● Security: Tenants have real-time overview of their own entrances with personalised accesses. Reduced cases of access card sharing and losses.
● Sustainability: By reducing the need for plastic RFID cards, the solution significantly lowers plastic and electronic waste, aligning with Ülemiste City’s environmental goals.
