Health Stairwell
Uku Jürgenson’s artwork “Health Stairwell” invites people to move, notice and take an active part. The work is not limited only to the visual, but functions as a practical guide, turning everyday movement on the stairs into a conscious and health-supporting activity.
According to the author himself, the idea is simple and direct: “When going up the stairs, do the exercises along with it, all the instructions are on the wall – so it is easy to follow.” This approach brings art directly into the user’s everyday life, offering the opportunity to combine movement, playfulness and well-being without planning separate time for it.
The work also encourages people to overcome the usual social barrier that often prevents acting freely in public space. “Do not be afraid that others will look at you strangely, but rather invite them along,” the author adds, directing the experience from an individual activity into a shared and connecting moment.
“Health Stairwell” turns an ordinary route of movement into an environment that supports both physical and mental well-being. It is an example of how art can be at the same time simple, practical and impactful – inviting people to act, not only to look.
