“Ülo Pärnits” is a lifelike bronze sculpture created by Elo Liiv, dedicated to the founder and visionary of Ülemiste City. The work was unveiled in 2018 and depicts the person whose ideas and actions laid the foundation for the campus to develop into what it is today – a knowledge-based and future-looking environment.

The sculpture stands out for its realistic treatment, bringing out the person and presence of Ülo Pärnits in a direct and human way. As is characteristic of Elo Liiv’s work, it is not merely a portrait, but a work that conveys character and seeks to capture both the essence of the person and his influence on the surrounding environment.

Ülo Pärnits was a leading figure at Mainor and one of the main initiators behind the development of Ülemiste City – a person who saw in the former industrial area the potential to create a modern campus focused on innovation and education. The sculpture therefore functions not only as a memorial, but also as a carrier of the values that have guided the development of the campus.

The work relates directly to its location. Placed in the Ülemiste City environment, where entrepreneurs, students and specialists operate every day, it creates a visible link between the past and the present. It reminds us that today’s environment did not come into being by itself, but is the result of someone’s vision and consistent work.

The result is a sculpture that does not mark only one person, but embodies an idea – belief in development, education and the future, on which the whole story of Ülemiste City is built.
