The Ülo Pärnits Fund will start granting education scholarships in the total amount of at least 10,000 euros, every year

The Supervisory Board of AS Mainor decided to establish an education fund named after Ülo Pärnits, from which, up to four scholarships in the total amount of at least 10,000 euros will be granted every year.  

The purpose of the fund is to promote lifelong and practical learning, and the scholarships to be paid out are meant to support successful students and lecturers in their studies or research, including participation in shaping Ülemiste City as a smart campus. 

‘Never in my life have I met a person who places such importance on good education and constant self-improvement as Ülo Pärnits. Therefore, it is completely understandable that father’s memorial fund will start supporting good Estonian education, specifically,’ said the son of Ülo Pärnits, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of AS Mainor, Guido Pärnits.  

The capital of the scholarships of the Ülo Pärnits Fund is composed of amounts donated to the fund every year by Pärnits’ heir OÜ Kristosten and other companies. OÜ Kristosten has taken the responsibility to finance the fund each year with at least 10,000 euros. Pursuant to the statute, a competition for up to four scholarships is announced each year. The minimum amount of one scholarship 1500 euros.  

All students of Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences who study beside work, are active in professional and community work, and study very well and/or present a practical, highly-graded research paper, are eligible to apply for the scholarships.  

Students and lecturers from partner universities who present research or competition works for making Ülemiste City smarter, are also eligible to apply for the scholarships. In addition, lecturers who support lifelong and practical learning with their timely, interesting and methodically relevant teaching, are also eligible to apply.  

Mainor Grupp, established by Doctor of Economics and entrepreneur Ülo Pärnits, has been operating as a high-level education provider since 1992, when today’s Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences started out as Mainor Business School. Throughout the years, Mainor’s activities have included teaching, consultation and development activities, and Mainor has been part of creating the Kalli-kalli kindergarten and the Estonian-speaking Emili Kool general education school, which both operate at the Ülemiste campus. In addition, Mainor will commence providing IB education at the new International School of Tallinn.
